Be remembered

Main Street Events

Be Remembered is a continuation of the project with the same title that was a part of the Main Street Events project, and it was as well realized in collaboration with Heidi Hove

The project was prompted by an invitation of Randers Art Association, and originally planned to take place in the public space during the annual festival week in the city of Randers, Denmark. By installing a raffle booth among the festival tents we wanted to find one winner who would get a bust of him or her self placed in the public space of Randers. If the bust had been realized it would have been joined by numerous busts and monuments that honours the cities important citizens. But due to the opposition within the city authority against the very core of the project the random principle the project could not be carried out.

Instead we arranged a showroom that presented the idea of honouring a random citizen as a future vision for Randers. The showrooms presented the project in advertisement languish and staged the Be Remembered as a brand. Banners, a promotion animation, the raffle booth itself, bust models of our selves, along with a work in progress cardboard sculpture, were the elements that shaped the showroom. It was elements that dealt with the deferent aspects of the vision, from issues that the citizens could find problematic to the practical issues such as location and design.

The text on the posters shown on a photo below, translate into:

“Be remembered – are you the new monument in the city of Randers. Come to hear more! All are welcome.”
